Dr. Zainab Mahmoud completed her medical education at Trinity College Dublin, earning her BA, MD, MB BCh, and BAO in 2011. She also holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Master's in Health Policy from Imperial College London. Dr. Mahmoud completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, and later pursued a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Washington University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Her accolades include the Burton E. Sobel Award for Excellence in Cardiovascular Research, the ACC/ABC/Merck Research Fellowship Award, and an Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences Research Grant. Dr. Mahmoud's clinical focus is on cardiovascular disease in women and cardio-obstetrics, with research interests in health policy, implementation science, and global health.
