OVERVIEW

 

Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology play vital roles in the management of cardiovascular patients. This symposium is designed to provide attendees with an opportunity to learn basic concepts and recent advances in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. Educational methods include didactic lectures, case reviews and group discussions.

TARGET AUDIENCE

 

Cardiologists, Cardiologists in training, Internists, Family Practitioners, Cardiovascular Nurses and Cardiovascular technologists will benefit from this course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

 

At the end of the Symposium, the attendees should be able to do the following:

 

  • Understand the indications, procedure, and potential complications of cardiac catheterization.

  • Understand the indications, benefits and potential complications of percutaneous coronary interventions.

  • Understand the indications, benefits and potential complications of Pacemakers.

  • Understand the benefits of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators.

  • Understand the utility of Cardiac Resynchronization therapy.

  • Describe the role of interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology in the management of Heart Failure.

EVALUATION

Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, possible bias and intent to change current practice.
