Education

We offer comprehensive cardiovascular education programs designed to equip healthcare professionals (physicians in all levels of training, nurses, physiologists and technicians), and the public with the knowledge and skills they need to prevent, diagnose, and treat cardiovascular diseases. Through regular virtual teaching, in-person educational symposia, workshops, and awareness campaigns, we strive to raise awareness of invasive strategies available to treat complex cardiovascular diseases.

Mission Planning

We collaborate with local cardiologists and professional societies to develop strategic mission plans aimed at addressing cardiovascular health challenges in the region. With an ultimate goal of developing local capacity through self-sufficiency, we use these opportunities to engage in in-person proctoring and skills transfer. Our plans are centered around advancing education in interventional cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology, with a strong emphasis on enhancing access to quality patient care, ensuring sustainability, and fostering long-term impact.

Research

We conduct cutting-edge research to better understand the epidemiology, risk factors, and treatment options for cardiovascular diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa. By generating evidence-based insights, we aim to inform policy decisions, improve clinical practice, and ultimately reduce the burden of cardiovascular illnesses on individuals and communities.

The Cardiovascular Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cardiovascular education, research and patient care in Africa and the African Diaspora.
